An Alice in Wonderland themed cafe complete with an amazing selection of teas from around the world and themed desserts. The prices are very reasonable for the tea, and the desserts are tasty and a treat for the eyes too. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the tea. There is also a huge selection on merchandise and hand made exclusive goods in the cafe.
Amazing afternoon tea, one of the best I've ever had. Super attention to detail, lovely food, great price. Would highly recommend

I live a couple of hours away from Colchester, but visited here whilst staying at my auntie's. The food and prices were amazing and the people were lovely! The chips especially were so light and fluffy, the best I've tasted in a long time! Will definitely come again if I'm around in the area :)
Great fish and chips for the local community. Not going to win any awards but good cheap grub! Staff are always friendly in the man who runs a chip shop kind of way.
3 St Botolph's, Colchester CO2 7DX, UK – 01206 369990
Went here with a friend for lunch after shopping. Very pleasant staff and absolutely beautiful fish and chips. For seniors the meal included lovely fresh bread and proper butter, tea, coffee or a soft drink all for £8.45 each. This was my first visit but will definitely not be my last.
Amazing food. Beautiful Ambience. Clean, Relaxed Musical Atmostphere to Dine in, with staff willing to tailor your food experience to suit you. Smiled all through my lunch while tapping in time to my kind of music. Loved it!

Very welcoming. Prices aren't bad. A good variety in food. Good job it's my local!
We enjoyed the beer and food here: the menu is by-the-numbers pub grub, but it really was a cut above the norm. The special was good value, the chips were worthy of mention (they tasted of potato!) and the beer was pretty well kept. Excellent pub grub, served well. What made this pub worth the extra star was the service and welcome. You felt at home instantly (and the staff did us a really big favour in response to a cheeky request that I won't describe here in case they get inundated with similar)! We had an onward journey so couldn't stay but I would have gladly whiled away an afternoon here. Our first visit to Colchester and this was a real find. Recommended.

Best Chinese takeaway in Colchester, I have been going there since I was just a young kid and I'm now in my 30's.... This says a lot about the place, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Always delicious and lovely friendly staff.
Have used this Chinese for absolute years. We have now moved out of Colchester, but still travel in to the Bejing although having a Chinese in our village. The food is great "always" & the staff always pleasant. I have never ever been disappointed. Well done Bejing & Thank you

Quick delivery, good quality food. And the only place in Colchester I've found that does crispy Mongolian lamb in soy sauce!
Really nice food, pretty cheap, the sweet and sour pork balls were extremely tender, not dry at all. We will be coming back. Very convenient next to our home

The Lady Who took my order was nice and helpful helping me decide on what dishes go with what and the best value of meal that would go with my budget. Delivery Very Fast & Friendly Within 20 Minutes of Calling The Order In. Order came and was very filling with crackers added and large amounts for good helpings. I Recommend this Chinese :)
Best Kung po chicken in the area, crispy chilli beef mighty fine too, always phone up to collect your order beats the queues, car parking at the back.

The food here is always excellent with very friendly service. Really lovely atmosphere with tables being a good distance apart so you don't feel crammed in. If you order too much food they box it up for you to take home so it never feels a waste.
The whole experince was very good. Ordered Chicken Pakora for starters, the chicken was very succulent. For mains ordered Chicken Jalfrezi, Garlic Chilli Lamb and Chicken Biryani. I have to pick out the Chicken Jalfrezi as the best of the dishes, a flavorful curry with tender juicy chunks of chicken in a spicy tomato sauce studded with stir-fried peppers and onions. The Chicken Biryani comes with a choice of side dishes, choose the Brinjal (Egg Plant) curry, which i really recommend. The portions where big enough for two people. The staff member who waited on us was very friendly. The prices where bery fair. Overall very satisfied with this restaurant.

Typical for five guys food. Tastes good but isn't good for you. Rather expensive in comparison to other burger joints in the town. Restaurant is light and airy, however can get busy at times.
Amazing burgers... if you don't know check it out! Forget McDonald's, burger king... this is proper!
10 High St, Colchester CO1 1DA, UK – 01206 544799
Convenient but not great. Sometimes people do feel a bit hungry and decide to visit a fast-food restaurant, that's fine. But I'll be honest, this isn't the best one to visit. All three times I went I've had mixed feelings. Due to the restaurant being on the high street, it's only natural for it get packed during busy times. And that would be fine if it wasn't a small chain. There is probably enough space on the bottom floor to fit roughly 20 people comfortably, with upstairs seating fitting around the same amount. My last visit wasn't fantastic, either. My order seemed to have been lost so I stood by the counter like a mug for 7 or so minutes before asking where my order went. Then when I went upstairs there was a lot of uncleaned mess. My friend managed to pick out a table that wasn't too bad but I did overhear a woman complain to a member of staff about it. It also has a bit of a funky smell most times, but I donc't know where it comes from.
Overall decent place but has 2 main downsides: 1. Wheelchair accessible toilet upstairs but no wheelchair accessibility to get upstairs... that's a pretty bad building layout plan. 2. For the only KFC in Colchester it's extremely small. There is space for just 2 queues if you squeeze people into one another and 2 tables with about 5-7 seats downstairs. If it's busy, you basically place yourself in the queue as soon as you step into the building, as the length of it is about as much as 6 queued people. The upstairs seating is ok for the small place, about 10-12 tables. But it can get a bit messy. It really should be a bigger place considering it's the only kfc in town and KFC is a big franchise so it's unusual to see it represented like this, plus I've seen it quite empty only ONCE of many visits so it's not like Colchester is lacking demand for the business, otherwise the size would be justifiable. Other than that, it's pretty good. Average wait time for order is decent - more than 2 minutes but less than 5. Sometimes very quick, 1-2 min, other times 5 min or more if really crowded. Never had a problem with order accuracy. Staff is friendly. Food is good.
